HATIWAVE STUDIOS

Music & Licensing Policy

Effective Date: [23/02/2026]

This policy outlines how music licensing, sourcing, and custom composition are handled within projects delivered by Hatiwave Studios.

1. Client-Supplied Music

If the Client provides music for use within a project:

  • The Client is solely responsible for securing all necessary usage rights and licenses.

  • Hatiwave Studios accepts no liability for copyright infringement relating to client-supplied materials.

  • Proof of license may be requested where necessary.

2. Licensed Music Sourcing

If Hatiwave Studios sources licensed music on behalf of the Client:

  • Usage rights are limited to the agreed scope (e.g. online, broadcast, territory, duration).

  • Additional usage (extended territories, paid advertising, broadcast upgrades, etc.) may require additional licensing fees.

  • Licensing costs may be billed separately or included within the agreed quote.

Music licensing terms are subject to the policies of the third-party licensing provider.

3. Custom Composition

Where original music is composed by Hatiwave Studios:

  • Ownership transfers to the Client upon full payment, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Usage scope (exclusive vs non-exclusive) must be defined in the contract.

  • Extended commercial usage may require additional agreement if exclusivity is requested.

Unused compositions, alternate drafts, or rejected material remain the property of Hatiwave Studios unless exclusivity has been agreed.

4. Broadcast & Commercial Usage

Projects intended for:

  • Television broadcast

  • National advertising campaigns

  • Cinema distribution

  • Paid media campaigns

may require extended licensing or additional composition agreements.

Clients must clearly communicate intended distribution platforms at the quoting stage to ensure appropriate licensing.

5. Responsibility & Indemnity

Hatiwave Studios is not responsible for:

  • Copyright claims relating to third-party music supplied by the Client

  • Misrepresentation of intended usage by the Client

  • Licensing upgrades required due to expanded distribution beyond agreed scope

Clients agree to indemnify Hatiwave Studios against claims arising from unauthorised use of licensed or third-party music supplied by the Client.

6. Credit & Promotion

Hatiwave Studios may reference custom compositions within its portfolio unless exclusivity has been agreed in writing.
